Central Library

Imagine a four storeyed building, fully air conditioned, unlimited WiFi and home to almost any book you may want to or need to read. Yes a place like that exists and it is none other than Lakshminath Bezbaroa Central Library, IIT Guwahati's main library. Just to give you some idea of how big the library really is, it has 1,54,564 printed volumes and also provides access to 12835 journals. Basically you’ll find anything you need for your course, project or just your interest. Moreover with recent developments in automation, the institute is pushing itself to make the library as state-of-art facility as possible. Automated returning of books, online fine payment are just some of these. For B.Tech students, you can issue a book for 45 days and renew it once. At max, you can only issue 7 books at a time. And if you ever get hungry studying, we also have a CCD right outside library.

Computer and Communication Centre

The institue's Computer Centre has over 150 computers dual booted with Ubuntu and Windows which can be accessed from 8:00am to 12:00 am. So internet surfing, programming, projects, everything can be done here. But the CCC’s duties go way beyond that. It practically maintains all the computers owned by the institute, takes care of all the communication i.e. LAN, WiFI, telephone connections everything. It also maintains a repository of operating systems and licensees for the campus residents. Moreover we have our very own supercomputer Param-Ishan.
