Electrical and Electronics Engineering

About Course Structure Future Opportunities

About the Department

Electronics and Electrical Engineering is a branch of Engineering that deals exclusively in power generation, power transfer and Electrical machines in addition to the basic communication and electronics courses with ECE.

Course Structure

The department has started the B. Tech. programme in Electronics and Electrical Engineering (EEE) from the year 2008. The programme aims at producing engineers with sound knowledge in electrical engineering and a strong background in electronics. The course structure extends beyond the syllabus of Electronics and Communication Engineering and provides various opportunities to explore some of the hot topics in the field of Pattern Recognition, Image Processing, Machine Learning .This gives students an exposure to research topics in such fields.

Future Opportunities

Electrical Engineering is one of the fastest growing fields that involves study and application of electricity and electronics. It is the most interesting branch of engineering because it involves study of computer, electricity, electronics and communication.
Electrical Engineering graduates can work in atomic power plants, hydel or thermal power plants. Job opportunities are ample in both private and public sector like railways, civil aviation, electricity board and utility companies, electrical design and consultancy firms and all types of manufacturing industries.
There are plenty of opportunities to pursue higher education abroad. Some courses offered are M.S in Electrical Power Systems, Master of Research in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Master of Engineering Science (Electrical Engineering).
