Team 1: Rajib Lochan Ghadei, Suman Dolai, Subhradeep Pal & Soham Chatterjee — “Electricity-Free Cooling Prototype for Sustainable Thermal Management.” Team 2: Shibesh Pramanik, Nalinikanta Swain, Rishabh Sahoo, Astha & Piyali Ghatak — “FLUOROVIR-Lite: Portable Spectrofluorometer for Early Parkinson’s Diagnosis.”
• An Indian Patent was granted to our Physics scholars Sanjoy Sur Roy, Koushik Ghosh, M. Meyyappan and Prof. P. K. Giri for the invention "AN ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE SHIELDING FILM WITH HIGH GREEN INDEX".
• Prof. Sunil Khijwania and PhD student Fatima Banoo (PhD) published "Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance based Novel Optical Fiber Arsenic Ion Sensor Employing Al2O3/GO Nanocomposite" in Applied Optics, highlighted as "Cost-effective tool for household arsenic monitoring."
• Ms. Mouli Roy Chowdhury (PhD) received the Best Poster Award at the 16th IEEE-AIP Joint Conference on Magnetism and Magnetic Materials & Intermag (MMM-Intermag 2025), New Orleans, USA, Jan 13-17, along with a cash prize of USD 100.
• Pooja Kumari Gupta (PhD, under Prof. A K Sarma) received the Best Oral Presentation for "Quantum correlation and bistability in a Kerr modified cavity magnomechanical system" at Photonics 2024.
• Urmimala Dewan (PhD, under Prof. A K Sarma) received the Best Paper Award for "Entangled cat state generation using entanglement swapping" at Photonics 2024.
• Sourav Mandal (PhD, under Prof. A Perumal) received the Best Oral Presentation Award at iReAd MAGMA24 for "Tuning the Properties of MnAl Alloys for Rare Earth Free Magnet Applications".
• Mr. Sunil Kumar Moharana (PhD) received the Best Poster Award at the Physical Chemistry Symposium-2024, held from Oct 22-25 at IIT Bombay.
• Dr. Rishi Maiti has been awarded the Scientific High Level Visiting Fellowship 2024 by the Indian-French Institute (IFI), French Embassy.
• Prof. Santabrata Das and Mr. Seshadri Majumder, in collaboration with ISRO, University of Mumbai, and TIFR, featured in an ISRO press release for "High Energy X-ray Modulation in Black Hole (Swift J1727.8-1613)" and published in MNRAS.
• The invention titled "A Wavefront Measuring System and Method with Ameliorated Dynamic Range", with Dr. Nagendra Kumar, Prof. Alika Khare, and Prof. Bosanta Ranjan Boruah as inventors, was granted an Indian Patent on 02/04/2024.
• Patent 510388 has been granted for the invention titled "A Method and Device for Zonal Wavefront Sensing Via Sequential Spatially Shifted Grating Array Patterns", filed in 2014 by Prof. Bosanta R. Boruah and Dr. Biswajit Pathak.
• Patent 507092 (Filed on 09/07/2020) has been granted for the invention titled "Hydroxyapatite (HAp) Comprising Mixed Polymorphs of Monoclinic and Hexagonal Phases Obtained by Sol-Gel Process", invented by Dr. D. Pamu and Apurba Das.
• The paper titled "Effects of reheating on charged lepton Yukawa equilibration and leptogenesis", by the team led by Prof. Arunansu Sil in Physical Review Letter.
• The paper titled "UV-Ozone treatment: An effective way of enhancing the work function of V2Ox films", by Rahul, Juhi Kumari, Jaishree Bhardwaj & Prof. Pratima Agarwal, has been selected for the Best Poster Award at the 22nd International Workshop on the Physics of Semiconductor Devices (IWPSD 2023) during 14-17 Dec, 2023 held at IITM, India.
• The paper titled "Structural and magnetic properties of Fe100-xTix alloys prepared by planetary ball milling", by Harekrushna Behera, Sourav Mandal & Prof.Perumal Alagarsamy has been awarded a prize for the best poster presentation at the International Conference on Magnetic Materials and Applications (ICMAGMA-2023) during 04-06 Dec, 2023 held at Hyderabad, India.
• The research article “Unlocking the potential of hexaferrite–spinel ferrite composites: Microstructure-induced colossal permittivity and relaxation phenomena” led by Prof. D Pamu and his team has been taking on the cover page of one of the standard journals: Journal of Applied Physics.

• Prof. Subhash Thota have been invited to join the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Applied Physics (JAP). The Invitation was honored based on his expertise and strong record of authoring and reviewing JAP papers.

• Invention titled "Free Space Optical Communication System, Apparatus and A Method Thereof" by the team of Dr. Santanu Konwar and Prof. Bosanta Ranjan Boruah has been granted Japanese Patent with patent number 6998868 (registration dated 23/12/2021).
• Mr. Manvendra Singh Gangwar, has received the Best E-poster award (2nd rank) for the paper entitled “Growth dynamics of silver nanoparticles for light trapping applications in thin-film solar cells” presented at the ICTAMASD-2022 held during 8-10 March 2022, organized by the Department of Physics, Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya Sagar, M.P, India.
• Mr. Rajnandan Choudhury Das, has been selected for the AWSAR Award 2021 which includes a cash prize of ₹10,000 and certificate from DST, Govt. of India for his story on “Laser Cooling Mysteries & Harry’s Heroics in Quantumverse” in the “Best Popular Science Stories” under the Ph.D. category.
• Mr. Rajnandan Choudhury Das, Research Scholar, Department of Physics, has been selected for the prestigious SHYAMA PRASAD MUKHERJEE (SPM) Fellowship in Physical Science based on his excellent performances in the CSIR-UGC-NET exam held in June - 2019.
• Mr. Apurba Das, Research Scholar, Department of Physics, has been awarded the Persistent Systems Cash Prize of Rs. 5 Lakhs in the National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition (NBEC 2021).
• Prof. P K Giri has been elected as a Fellow of the West Bengal Academy of Science & Technology (WAST).
• Mr. Anterdipan Singh and Mr. Manvendra Singh Gangwar received the best oral and best poster award respectively in the recently concluded Virtual Conference on "Recent Advances and Innovation in Solar Energy (RAiSE)" held at IIT Madras between December 02-04, 2021.
