Saurabh Basu is a member of the following research group and research areas:

Research areas

  • Area of correlated electron systems with the main focus on bosonic superfluidity in (optical) lattices, Effctive models in Fermionic systems, Quantum Information theory applied to Condensed matter Physics, BCE-BEC crossover etc.

Research is focused on transport properties of Graphene and Kane Mele nanoribbons, edge states and its topological properties. The adatom decorated and cavity modulated nanoribbons hold keys to many of the interesting properties, such as spintronics, metal-insulator transitions etc. Besides, micro and nanoscale junction devices show interesting features on charge and heat transport where a controlled figure of merit is possible by tuning the spin orbit coupling via engineering the gate volatge in a nano-junction device. Competing quantum phases in ultracold spinor gases is another research area that is under scrutiny. A variety of agents, such as synthetic magnetic field, disorder, exteded and interactions beyond the usual two particles have been studied. Dynamical properties of Bose gases in presence of driving is yet another area of expertise.
