Computational Phonology :

Computational phonology is a subfield of linguistics that focuses on using computational and mathematical methods to analyze and model the phonological aspects of language. Phonology is the study of the sound patterns in a language, and computational phonology seeks to understand and represent these patterns using formal and computational techniques. This field plays a crucial role in natural language processing (NLP) and speech recognition technologies, as it helps in the development of computer systems that can understand and generate spoken language.
