Dr. Souptick Chanda obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at IIEST Shibpur, India in the year of 2003. He completed his Master’s degree in the same discipline from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India in 2006. Thereafter, during the span of 2006 to 2012, he had worked for two prominent corporate sectors and gathered hands-on experience in CAD Modelling, Analysis and Product Lifecycle Management. His doctoral study in the field of Biomechanics at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India, lasted until August, 2015. Subsequently, he joined NTU Singapore as a post-doctoral research fellow and worked on virtual deformation modelling of human pelvic anatomy during digital rectal examinations training. Dr. Chanda is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India. His areas of research interest include Biomechanics, implant design and optimization, surgical simulations and soft computing.
