🎓 Celebrating 25 Years of Legacy — Silver Jubilee Alumni Meet, Batch of 2001
From 30th July to 1st August, IIT Guwahati had the privilege of welcoming back its Batch of 2001 for a truly memorable Silver Jubilee celebration under "Smriti" — a homecoming filled with nostalgia, pride, and reconnection.
Day 1 | Meet & Greet
The celebrations began on a warm note as the SAIL and ACIR teams welcomed our alumni back to campus for an evening of reunions, shared stories, and rekindled friendships that set the tone for the days ahead.
Day 2 | Down Memory Lane
The day began with interaction and discussion of the alumni with the Deans and IITG officials. Following that, our alumni revisited the Technology Incubation Centre, witnessing firsthand how far the institute's innovation ecosystem has come since their time on the North Guwahati campus. They then reconnected with their home departments of CSE, ECE, and Mechanical Engineering, meeting faculty members and students, and reliving cherished memories of their academic years.
The day continued with a special Open House Session, where alumni were felicitated and shared reflections on their journey, from their four years at IIT Guwahati to 25 remarkable years beyond it.
The evening came alive with a vibrant Cultural Performance by our student community — soulful music by Octaves, energetic dance by Cadence, moving poetry from the Literary Society, a compelling act by the Expression Drama Club, and an exuberant Bihu performance by our Security Team — a true celebration of Assam's rich heritage and IIT Guwahati's spirited campus culture.
Day 3 | Looking Ahead Together
The day began with an insightful interaction with the Director of IIT Guwahati, where alumni engaged in meaningful conversations about the institute's growth and future vision. This was followed by an equally engaging interaction with the Deans and senior officials at the institute's Senate Hall, who shared perspectives on the institute's growth, recent achievements, and roadmap for the future.
Students from the Electronics, Coding, Aero, Robotics, Finance & Economics, and Automobile Clubs showcased their innovative projects, reflecting the ingenuity that continues to define our campus.
The celebrations concluded with Startup Sanvad, a dynamic session where student founders presented their ventures to our alumni with discussion on around mentorship, collaboration, and innovation across generations.
To our incredible Batch of 2001 — thank you for coming home, for your stories, your spirit, and your enduring bond with IIT Guwahati. Here's to 25 years of memories and many more to come!
