    Research and Teaching Experiences

    • Worked as a Research Associate (CSIR) under supervision of Prof. Goverdhan Mehta, School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad from 1.12.1989 to 30.06.1992 on total synthesis of natural products
    • Awarded for an Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Fellowship to pursue Postdoctoral research work under supervision of Prof. Dr. R. R. Schmidt, Department of Chemistry, University of Konstanz, Germany in March 1992. After completion of German Language course (01.07.92 to 31.10.92) at Goethe Institute at Murnau in Germany. Later joined in University of Konstanz on 1.11.1992 and worked on carbohydrate chemistry and in total synthesis of natural products up to 30.12.1994
    • Worked as a Scientist Fellow on quick higher basis, which is equivalent to ‘Scientist C’, in the Natural Product Chemistry Division at RRL Jorhat (CSIR Laboratory) in Assam from 1.11.96 to 21.12.1996
    • Joined as an Assistant Professor in Chemistry at IIT Guwahati on 23.12.1996 and promoted to an Associate Professor on 29.06.2001. Then promoted to full Professor on 23.03.2004 and presently continuing as HAG professor with effect from 01.04.2010
