    He completed his B.Sc degree in Chemistry from Narendrapur Residential College, Calcutta University, India. Then he moved to Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), India and received M.Sc degree in Physical Chemistry. He received doctoral fellowship from University of Illinois at Chicago, USA and joined the group of Professor Wonhwa Cho.He moved to the group of Professor Gautam Basu, Bose Institute, India for his postdoctoral research experience on mechanistic studies of glutamate-tRNA ligase. Then in 2009, he started his independent research career in the Department of Chemistry at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati.He moved to the group of Professor Gautam Basu, Bose Institute, India for his postdoctoral research experience on mechanistic studies of glutamate-tRNA ligase.
