He obtained his B.Sc degree majored in Chemistry at The University of Calcutta in 2001 and M.Sc degree in Chemistry in 2003 at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, West Bengal, India . He then pursued his doctoral studies with Prof. Dr. Phalguni Chaudhuri at the Max-Planck Institute for Bioinorganic Chemistry, Muelheim, Germany. Later on he moved to Bielefeld University, in Germany, and The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan for his post-doctoral studies with Prof. Dr. Thorsten Glaser and Prof. Shu Kobayashi, respectively.
