The Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi mentions about the two-year research program on e-mobility introduced by the PI of our lab with support from the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering in his speech during online Convocation at IIT Guwahati on 22 September 2020.

EML signs a research contract with TMEIC, Japan to undertake research in the area of electrical machines. The goal of this project is to study the stray losses in induction motors. This project will be executed by Rajendra Kumar and Binita Nanda.
EML embarks on an ambitious project to develop electric scooters in association with NFTDC and department of Design (IITG). In this project a set of electric scooters will be developed for carrying cargo and personal use. The payload capacity of the scooters will be 150Kg and the scooter will be capable to driving 75Km per charge. The prime-mover of the scooter will be an induction motor instead of PM motors.
