"I born and grew up in Kanchrapara, a part of greater Kolkata. In Bengal, as everyone else, I was also surrounded by art, culture, and heritage. I have always had a strong interest in paintings, drawings, sculpting, and different kinds of fine art forms. I later learnt about various types of fine arts in under the tutelage of various renowned teachers of our locality. Among them, I found that 'Katum-Kutum', by great Abanindranath Tagore, was very fascinating, and I found that's what I love to do: create something fresh out of leftovers or scraps. Eventually, Chemistry comes deeply in my studies. During my higher study days, curiosity drove me to think  that molecules are the best blocks for creating anything intriguing from scratch, with supramolecular chemistry being the most exciting instrument. Apart from art and chemistry, I love to cook and taste new cuisines. Last but not the least, I am a big fan of cricket as a sport.."
In words of Jean-Marie Lehn, Supramolecular Chemistry is

                                                 Chemistry Beyond Molecules”

Supramolecular Chemistry brings all the weak non covalent interactions in one frame alongside covalent interactions to demonstrate the whole story. Supramolecular Chemistry opens up the window to investigate all the complex systems especially macromolecular systems in the nature. I often wonder that how a simple polymer of amino acids is capable of doing complex reactions, modulating sustenance, responsiveness and enhancing the accuracy in terms of efficiency and productivity simply by just being in a proper orientation. In this context, a plethora of amino acids and their wide range of properties in terms of charge, hydrophilic/hydrophobic balance, functionality fascinates me to fabricate something interesting with the help of supramolecular chemistry as a tool.
These polymeric amino acids fold and reside in a such way that creates a proper environment for a substrate that can lead to a desired product. When proteins are fragmented, they are no more functional. But if these fragments are brought in close proximity to one another in a proper orientation, only then they can act as their native functional protein. Based on this concept Split-Protein Technology is established. By using Split-Protein Technology, several interactions are monitored in biological systems whether it is in vitro or in vivo. This concept motivates me to look after incorporating supramolecular chemistry in this technique and its behavior and application.
