Mr. Basant Bardalai served as the Director of Pipeline Integrity Management Services at Tyco Thermal Controls BV., Belgium, covering the Middle East, South Asia, and Far East regions. In 2004, he was assigned as Country Head of Tyco Qatar Fire & Security LLC in Doha, Qatar, overseeing operations in Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman. He also established a Design and Engineering Centre in Fujairah (UAE) for Tyco Qatar. He retired from Tyco in 2017. He began his career with Dunlop India Ltd. as a management trainee in 1976. From 1981 to 1983, he served with Hindustan Computers Ltd. (now HCL). Then he founded Quest Pipeline Services Private Ltd., an entrepreneurial venture with NRI capital, focusing on the Oil & Gas sector. He underwent training in Pipeline Integrity Management Systems with Enron Inc. and collaborated professionally with Trenton Inc. both based in Houston USA. He presented technical papers on Pipeline Integrity Management Systems at the NACE Conference in New Orleans in 1996 and the NACE Conference in Budapest in 1997. In 2004, the company merged with Tyco Thermal Controls, Belgium. He graduated from IIT Kharagpur in 1976, with a B.Tech (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering and earned his PGDBM from IIM Ahmedabad in 1981.
