Research Synopsis

Emphasis in our research group will be on the design of powerful catalytic systems based on inexpensive transition metals for accomplishing atom economical organic reactions under green conditions via C-H and C-F activation. The knowledge gained through systematic mechanistic studies on these catalytic systems will be utilized in the synthesis of precursors to fuels, commodity chemicals, and heteroatom doped π-conjugated organic materials.
