About Me

My name is Harpreet Singh, and I proudly carry my roots from Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India, where I was born in 1998. My father, Ajit Singh, serves as an Engineer in the esteemed Military Engineer Services, a vital part of the Government of India, while my mother, Harjeet Kour, has been the nurturing force behind our family as a dedicated homemaker.

My academic journey began at New Era Public High School, where I laid the initial stepping stones of my education. Later, at Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School in Jammu, I continued to fuel my passion for learning. Moving forward, I completed my Bachelor of Science from Government Gandhi Memorial Science College and pursued my Master's degree at the University of Jammu.

Presently, I am immersed in the enriching world of academia, pursuing a PhD at the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati under the guidance of Prof. Malay K. Nandy. My research focuses on the intriguing Information Loss paradox within black holes, a field that has captured my imagination since my early days of studying physics.

Apart from my scholarly pursuits, I find solace and inspiration in the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib, which guide my principles and actions. My love for physics and mathematics blossomed during my school days, especially when I first encountered concepts like congruent triangles and Newton's laws, paving the way for my current exploration of black hole phenomena.

During moments of leisure, I indulge in reading books, particularly those related to physics, which broaden my perspectives and deepen my understanding of the universe. I also have a keen interest in Indian Classical Vocal music, which I am learning and practicing on the harmonium. Additionally, I have dabbled in playing the tabla, adding a rhythmic dimension to my creative pursuits.

My journey is a blend of academic dedication, cultural heritage, and personal interests, shaping me into a well-rounded individual with a thirst for knowledge and a passion for exploration.
