Trading Strategies in Stock Markets
-The objective of this project was to apply some of the trading
strategies like Momentum Trading and Pairs Trading on real stock
data and analysing the performance of the portfolios by various
measures.
- We began the project by understanding the basics of trading and
how trading is done through a de-mat account.
- After this, we learnt Momentum Trading and Pairs Trading
Strategies.
- We applied the strategies on real data using Python and also
discussed their respective Research Papers.
- We shared weekly links to be covered by the students and
assignments at the end of each week. There were doubt sessions each
week.
– Around 40 students were a part of the project.They learnt a lot
about the basics of trading, trading strategies and de-mat account
and also the functioning of exchanges like NSE
Index Fund
The objective of this project was to apply ratio analysis on a pool
of companies form each sector and select some of them for further
Equity Research and Analysis.
We began the project by understanding the basics of Financial
Statements and how to - calculate various ratios using them.
We shared weekly links to be covered by the students and assignments
at the end of each week. There were doubt sessions each week.
This is a first sub-part of the main ‘Equity Research and Analysis’
project.
Around 40 students were a part of the project and many of them
completed the final assignment.
Why does INR devalue (w.r.t USD) in the year prior to general election?
In this short project we are trying to check whether this statement
is true or not. If true, are the causes related to election, is it
due to corruption, if so, whether other countries exhibit similar
behaviour
or not.
This is more of a market analysis project which involves a lot of
research and article readings.
Shares Buyback: When are they good or bad?
In this project, members read articles by famous economists and
investors to understand what share buyback is, in which scenarios
are the shares buybacks considered good and when they are considered
bad.
Apart from this, what are the benefits of shares buyback as compared
to giving out dividends and are their better methods to give money
back to shareholders other than these.
