Ushering in the Benefits of
Modern day Research in
Biology and Healthcare to
the Society in the North-East

Objective

North East Centre for Biological Sciences and Healthcare engineering has been set up by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India with the specific objective of stimulating research and innovation among the scientists and engineers working in North-Eastern part of India. IIT Guwahati has been entrusted with the task of making this happen in two ways. Under the NECBH TWINNING OUTREACH programme 2018, funding for small and medium budget research proposals for the North-East principal investigators is planned. Further, to modernise the research infrastructure in the North-East, this endeavour also envisages creation of several state of the art research facilities in area of Biological Sciences and Healthcare Engineering at IIT Guwahati for the use and benefit of the North-East research workforce. It is hoped that these activities will elevate the research ecosystem in the North-East to new levels.
