  • The selection process for Ph.D. in the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (EEE) will be held from 30th November 2023 to 2nd December 2023
  • The list of candidates shortlisted for the upcoming Ph.D. programme admission interviews (December 2023 Session) has been announced. The applicants can check the results in their respective logins on the Application portal. (Link: https://www.iitg.ac.in/admission/login)
  • Candidates are requested to visit this webpage regularly for updates

  • Information Regarding the Interview Process:

    • The interviews for Ph.D. programmes will be conducted through SIX specialization panels (as mentioned in the table below). The candidates are required to fill up their panel preferences form (sent in email with call letter) before November 26, 2023, in which you will enter at most TWO panel preferences, for which you wish to be interviewed.

    • Candidates may check which panel align to their research interests from the link given here.

    • Please note that the panel preferences should be based on the areas of interest mentioned in your application form only. In case your areas of interest are not present in the specialization panels mentioned in the list below, please opt for the specialization panel(s) that closely relate to your desired areas of interest.

    • The interviews for Joint Degree Ph.D. (JDP) and Project Mode Ph.D. (PM) programmes will be conducted in the specialization panels as indicated in the table below. If a candidate is shortlisted in any of these programmes and wishes to appear for the respective interview(s), they must choose the corresponding panel(s) among the TWO preferences. Please note that under no circumstance will you be allowed to appear for more than TWO interviews.

    The interviews will be held online and the link for the meeting will be communicated by email.

    Ph.D. Programmes
    • The shortlisting criteria for the Regular and Non-Regular studentship categories for Ph.D. admissions are same as the minimum eligibility criteria specified in the institute advertisement for admission to the Ph.D. programme in the Department of Electronics & Electrical Engineering for the December 2023 Session. The eligibility criteria for Ph.D. admissions are available here and the studentship eligibility criteria are available here.
    • For the Joint Degree Ph.D. (JDP), only Regular studentship category candidates are eligible.
    • For the Project Mode Ph.D. (PM) programme, only Regular category candidates are eligible.
    • In case you meet the eligibility and shortlisting criteria but your application status in the portal shows “Not Shortlisted” or “Not Eligible”, then please send an email to: eeeadmissions@iitg.ac.in with the subject line “Discrepancy in shortlisting for Ph.D. Admissions December 2023” at the earliest.
