Dr. Debabrata Sikdar
(Supervisor)
Dr. Sikdar is a young academic
researcher with interests focused mainly on the emerging research areas of plasmonics
and metamaterials. He specializes in developing theory, modelling and
simulation of novel nano-optical devices and nanoplasmonic systems. He also
actively collaborates with many experimental groups from India and abroad
(Universities in UK, Australia, China, and Russia).
He has pioneered many novel
techniques in theory, modelling and simulation of light interaction with
guided and scattering media, proposed new tuneable metadevices, and published
over 70 research articles, four patent and one book chapter. He is currently
the Principal Investigator of the Sikdar
nanoplasmonics and Metamaterial Research Group (SNMG) based at the
Department of EEE, IIT Guwahati.

Tanmay Bhowmik
Tanmay Bhowmik received the B.E. degree in Electronics and
Telecommunication Engineering from Tripura Institute of Technology, Agartala,
India, in 2013 and the M. Tech degree in Electronics and Communication
Engineering from Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata, India, in 2016.
From 2017 to 2018, he was a Project Associate in the Photonics Research Group
at Electrical Engineering Department, Indian Institute of Technology Madras,
India. Since 2018, he is a full-time Ph.D. Scholar in the Department of Electronics
and Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India.
His research interest includes the development of electrotunable
metamaterials and metadevices for optical modulation using epsilon-near-zero
materials.

Jegyasu
Jegyasu received the B.Tech. degree in Electronics and Communication
Engineering from Feroze Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Rae
Bareli, India, in 2017 and the M.Tech. Degree in Electronics and
Communication Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Delhi,
India, in 2019. Currently, He is a Prime Minister Research Fellow (PMRF) in
the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute
of Technology, Guwahati, India. His research interests include metamaterial
applications in magnetic resonance enhancement, surface plasmon resonance based
photonic sensors and two dimensional materials plasmonics.

Dibaskar Biswas
Dibaskar Biswas is a full-time Ph.D. Scholar at IIT Guwahati under Dr.
Debabrata Sikdar. He received his B. Tech degree from NIT Silchar in the year
2017. He then worked as a Site Engineer at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited from
2017-2018. He also got selected as a JRF in the DLRL lab of DRDO in 2021. He
joined Ph.D. in the year 2021 December. Currently, he is a Prime Minister
Research Fellow (PMRF) in the Department of Electronics and Electrical
Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, India. His research
interest includes metamaterials and topological photonics in the Terahertz
regime.

Sourodipto Das
Sourodipto received his B.E degree in Electronics and
Tele-communication Engineering from Vidyavardhini's College of Engineering
and Technology, Mumbai, India, in 2020. He completed his M.Tech degree in
Electronics and Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of
Information and Technology, Jabalpur, India in June 2022. From July 2022, he
is a full-time Ph.D Scholar with specialization in Microelectronics, RF &
Photonics from the EEE department of Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati,
India. His research interest includes metamaterial and metasurfaces for
photonic applications.
Tushar Shah
Tushar Shah is a full-time Ph.D. Scholar at IIT Guwahati under Dr.
Debabrata Sikdar. He completed his B.E. degree in Electronics and
Telecommunication Engineering from Government Engineering College, Jagdalpur,
Chhattisgarh, India, in 2016 and MTech. degree in Opto-Electronics &
Laser Technology from Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur,
Chhattisgarh, India in 2020. He has qualified GATE 2018 & 2019, UGC-NET
2022 & 2023. He was working as Assistant Professor in GEC, Raipur from
12-10-2021 to 31-01-2023. His area of research interest includes
Nano-photonics device fabrication.

Dr. Ashish Kumar Chowdhary
Dr. Chowdhary received the B.Tech. degree from the Department of
Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology,
Durgapur, India, in 2015. He worked in the telecom industry as a Solution
Integration engineer with Ericsson India Global Services Pvt. Ltd. from
2015-2017. He joined Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, India, in
2017, as a dual degree (MS + Ph.D.) research scholar in the Department of
Electronics and Electrical Engineering and graduated on Jun-2022 with Best Thesis Award. His research
interests include the development of smart optical devices and energy
harvesting using plasmonic metamaterial absorber.
Current Affiliation: Presently he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of

Dr. Priyanka Das
Dr. Priyanka received her B. Tech in Electronics and
Communication Engineering from Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata and M.
Tech in RF and Microwave Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, India. She completed
her doctoral research at the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics,
University of Calcutta, India in 2022. Her research areas include microstrip
antenna design, RF passive circuit design, metamaterials and frequency
selective Surfaces. From March 2022 to Dec 2022, she was working in a project at IIT Guwahati under the
mentorship of Dr. Debabrata Sikdar.
