e-Varaha: Information System for Safe Pork Production in North Eastern India

The e-Varaha project utilizes IT-based tools for the holistic development of the piggery sector by making available the right information at the right time and establishing functional linkages between different players of the value chain to augment production, productivity, and profitability. IT application to record and visualize the movement of pigs-to-pork helps understand the current pig-to-pork chain in NER. Pig farmers are integrated with other value chain players through a traceability system, and pork processors receive aids for ensuring safe pork production.

Archiving, Modeling & Visualization of Eco-Cultural Heritage of the Majuli River Island of Assam

Cultural Heritage (CH) is an identity of any group. This project focuses on digitizing the eco-cultural heritage of the Majuli River Island of Assam using archiving technologies and immersive technologies (VR and AR). Three types of users are considered: Live Tour Users (smart-glass, in-situ with overlaid multimedia information), Virtual Tour Users (HMD, remote experience), and Mobile Tour Users (smartphones/tablets for detailed information about CH entities). The main focus is to make the CH system give a user the experience of sensing realism and allow them to interact with the virtual world using controllers or body gestures.
