The Central Instruments Facility (CIF) at IIT Guwahati is a premier hub offering cutting-edge analytical instrumentation and expertise to accelerate research across diverse fields of science and technology. Since its inception with key instruments like the 400MHz FTNMR and scanning electron microscope, CIF has grown to house over 26 state-of-the-art instruments. Our advanced facilities empower researchers to perform sophisticated chemical and material analyses, enabling impactful research and publications in high-impact journals.
CIF proudly serves the majority of IIT Guwahati’s academic departments as well as more than 38 external institutions across India, fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
