1. How to reach Guwahati ?

Guwahati, the gateway to the North East India, is well connected by air, rail and road with the rest of the country. There is air connectivity between Guwahati and major cities of India including direct flights to/from Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur and Hyderabad. Indian, JetLite, Jet Airways, Air Deccan, Indigo, Kingfisher and SpiceJet operate regular flights to and from Guwahati. Direct train services are available from/to all major metropolis and cities in the country.


2. How to reach the Institute ?

The Institute is located on the outskirts of the city of Guwahati at a distance of around 20 km from Guwahati railway station and around 20 km from the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi airport.

Taxis, buses and auto-rickshaws are available to reach the IIT Guwahati campus from the airport, the railway station and other parts of the city. IIT Guwahati also has its own bus service that operates between the IITG campus and the bus stop opposite to Hotel President, Panbazar, Guwahati. The institute bus timings are as follows -

Prepaid taxis are available from the Guwahati airport to IIT campus and the present fare is around Rs. 350/-.
