Debatosh Guha is Professor in the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics of the University of Calcutta. He received the B. Tech., M. Tech., and Ph. D. degrees from the University of Calcutta in 1987, 1989 and 1994, respectively. As a Visiting Professor/Scientist, Dr. Guha has visited different Foreign Universities and Research Laboratories like Royal Military College of Canada, University of Houston, University of Bath, Queen Mary University of London, Communication Research Centre, Ottawa etc.

He is a recipient of Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund Prize and URSI Young Scientist Award, 1996. Dr. In 2008 International Union of Radio Science Meeting at Chicago, he represented India in the Commission-B.

He is the founder chair of the IEEE AP-MTT Chapter, Calcutta Section. As a major part of its activities, he has initiated a biennial International Conference on Applied Electromagnetics in Eastern India since 2007.

Dr. Guha is a Senior Member of the IEEE and is on the board of reviewers of several International Journals including IEEE Transaction on Antennas and Propagation, IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, IET Microwave, Antennas and Propagation, IET Circuits, Devices and Systems, Electronics Letters etc. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 journal and conference articles. His current research interests include Antennas for Wireless, Composite and Hybrid Dielectric Resonator Antennas, Defected Ground Structures for Antenna Applications and Electromagnetic Metamaterials.
