About the speaker:

Prof. Bhupendra Nath Goswami is an Indian meteorologist, climatologist and a former director of the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) Pune. He is very well known for his researches on the Indian monsoon dynamics for last several decades. Prof. Goswami's research works can be found in more than 300 peer-reviewed articles published in reputed journals. He is an elected fellow of all the three major Indian science academies as well as The World Academy of Sciences. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology awarded by CSIR in 1995.
