Prabir Barooah received his Ph.D. in 2007 from the University of California, Santa Barbara. From 1999 to 2002 he was a research engineer at United Technologies Research Center, East Hartford, CT. He received the M. S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware in 1999 and the B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, in 1996. He was born in Jorhat, Assam, India. Dr. Barooah is the winner of the ASEE SE Section’s Outstanding Researcher Award (2013), NSF CAREER award (2010), General Chairs' Recognition Award for Interactive papers at the 48th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (2009), best paper award at the 2nd Int. Conf. on Intelligent Sensing and Information Processing (2005), and NASA group achievement award (2003).

Dr. Siddhanta Borah

About:

Dr. Borah received his Ph.D. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from National Institute of Technology Nagaland in September 2023. From 2023 to 2024, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at Assam Engineering College, Guwahati. In 2025, he joined the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering as a Postdoctoral Fellow.

Research:

Dr. Borah’s research interests focus on embedded hardware design for low-power applications, particularly in the fields of agriculture and robotics. He has been granted two patents and has published 11 research papers in international journals, presented 9 conference papers, and contributed to 2 book chapters.

Narendra Sona

About:

Narendra received his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Assam Engineering College, Jalukbari, Guwahati in July 2023. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at IIT Guwahati. His interests lie in solving complex engineering problems with a focus on energy systems and control. His hobbies include playing cricket and writing articles.

Control co-design of solar thermal vapor absorption refrigeration systems for cold storage applications.

Subhadeep Paul

About:

Subhadeep earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physics at Kharagpur College, Vidyasagar University, in 2020 and completed his Master’s in Electronics from Vidyasagar University in 2022. He worked as a project staff (JRF) at the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology in Gandhinagar from September 2022 to July 2024. In July 2024, he began his PhD at the EnerBots Lab. He focuses his research on using computational and analytical methods to solve real-world engineering and research problems, drawing on his skills in programming, data analysis, and system-level thinking. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling, playing badminton, cooking, and photography.

About:

Bishwajit Sarmah received his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Assam Kaziranga University, Jorhat, Assam, in 2023. He joined Enerbots Lab on February 2025 and is currently working in the field of robotics. His hobbies include playing cricket and volleyball, as well as making soft toys. He also enjoys watching stories and narrating them in his own way.

Bibek Das

About:

Bibek das received his ITI (NCVT) degree in the Electrician trade from Nemcare Model Industrial Training Institute, Mirza, Guwahati in 2024. He has experience working with autonomous UAVs, and he is also a very experienced drone pilot. He joined Enerbots Lab in June 2025 as Project Technician.
