Dr. Pankaj Kalita is an Associate Professor in the School of Energy Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. He graduated from Jorhat Engineering College, Assam, and completed his M.Tech in Fluids and Thermal Engineering and Ph.D. in circulating fluidized bed combustion and gasification from IIT Guwahati.

Prior to joining IIT Guwahati in 2015, he served at Tezpur University. With more than two decades of academic and research experience, he has made significant contributions in the areas of renewable energy systems, particularly solar thermal and photovoltaic energy conversion, energy storage, energy management, and remote electrification.

His applied research interests include passive cooling of buildings, solar dryers integrated with phase change materials (PCMs), hybrid PV/T systems, biomass gasification, anaerobic digestion, biochar applications, and compressed air energy storage.
