IWM 2016

This workshop is one of a series of mini workshops being organized in different parts of the country at the initiative of a collective of mathematicians called Indian Women and Mathematics (IWM) that has been in existence since 2009. Its objective over these years has been to encourage more women to pursue higher education in mathematics, and to provide an environment, and exposure to new trends, that enables them to take up careers in mathematics. It has organized a major event each year addressing these objectives. Recently, IWM has been reorganized upon the suggestion of the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) to review and introduce new activities. For more information about IWM please click here.

The aim of the workshop is to expose women of North Eastern and Eastern parts of India engaged in teaching and/or research - or pursuing a post-graduate degree in mathematics - to quality research in different areas of mathematics and the various opportunities for pursuing mathematics as a career.

The organizing responsibilities are handled by the following persons.
