
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) invites students and researchers to participate in its prestigious Certificate Programme on Scientific Observation from Space under the fourth edition of the Space Science and Technology Awareness Training (START) 2026).
As part of this initiative, the Centre for Educational Technology (CET), IIT Guwahati is hosting the course titled “Observations from Space” for its students. The programme is primarily intended for postgraduate students and preferably final-year undergraduate students from the disciplines of physical sciences, engineering, and technology.
The START programme, an important annual initiative of ISRO, aims to promote awareness and foundational understanding of space science and technology among students across the country. It comprises a series of online lectures delivered by eminent scientists, academicians, and experts from leading institutions, providing participants with introductory insights into space science, Earth observation, satellite applications, and emerging space technologies.
The training programme commenced on 11th March 2026 and will continue until 2nd April 2026, with two live lectures conducted daily from 15:15 hrs to 16:45 hrs and upon successful completion of the programme, Participation Certificates and Merit Certificates will be awarded to eligible participants based on their attendance and performance in the final online assessment.
The START 2026 programme offers a valuable opportunity for students to interact with leading experts and gain deeper insights into India’s advancements in space science and technology, and students are strongly encouraged to participate in this enriching academic initiative.
