Interested candidates need to separately apply for Ph.D. in the Interdisciplinary Research in Humanities, Sciences, Engineering and Design Domain. In this domain research proposal along with the proposed faculty members will be available in the advertisement.

Candidates need to select at least one and maximum two Research Proposals out of listed out on their interests and eligibility.

All the minimum education qualification and minimum percentage, etc. including national level examination qualification remain same and it will be mentioned against each proposal.

Each proposal will have a separate committee to decide the shortlisting criteria and mode of selection. There will be a four-member committee comprises of two proposed faculty members and one nominee of both the HoD . This committee will submit shortlisting and selection criteria to the academic section for approval.

A separate day will be scheduled for the selection of candidates for the Interdisciplinary PhD programme so that it will not clash with the schedules of the departments. All these committees will schedule and complete the selection process on that day. Since every candidate can choose maximum of two proposals, in case if any candidate is shortlisted for selection process by two panels/proposals then selection can be scheduled so that those candidates can attend both the selection processes.

Selected candidates need to work with the proposed faculty members only (Supervisors are fixed at the time of selection itself).

At the time of selection, depending on the academic background of the candidate, the selection committee decides on the parent department (i.e., one of the departments of the supervisors) at which the selected candidate will be admitted. All other rules and regulations of the parent department (as decided by the selection committee) will be applicable to the admitted student.
