Sub: Request to register with National Academic Depository (NAD) - For Graduates who received original/provisional degrees in 19^th Convocation and AFTER.

Dear Graduates concerned,

As per decision of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, henceforth we are required to upload/lodge our digitally signed academic awards (Original/Provisional Pass Certificates, Original Grade Cards etc.) in the National Academic Depository (NAD). The objective of the NAD is to ensure that the academic awards are stored permanently in a secured digital depository as well as to make the same available online to all stakeholders such as Pass-out students, Academic Institutions enrolling pass-out students for higher studies, Employers, and Verifying Agencies, on 24x7 basis.

There are presently 2(Two) Government of India approved NAD depositories viz., NSDL Database Management (NDML) and CDSL Ventures Limited (CVL), to provide NAD related services to all the stakeholders.

TO START WITH, FOR THE YEAR 2017, IIT GUWAHATI, HAS MADE AN ARRANGEMENT FOR UPLOADING ITS ACADEMIC AWARDS IN ONE OF THE DEPOSITORIES i.e. CDSL VENTURES LIMITED(CVL).

Given the above, the Academic Awards of Graduates who received original/provisional degrees in 19^th Convocation and AFTER, have been uploaded at https://cvl.nad.co.in or https://www.academicdepository.com/MNAD/

 Now, to get your authenticated/duplicate copies of Original/Provisional Pass Certificates and Original Transcripts directly from the Government of India approved NAD portal*, you have to do the following:

(a) Register yourself in the NAD portal https://cvl.nad.co.in or https://www.academicdepository.com/MNAD/ . Registration may be done in the following two manners:

1) AADHAAR based registration (For Indian students only)

2) Non-Aadhar based registration (May be done by any students including of Foreign Nationality). Such students may register using their personal email ID(except his/her IITG Email ID) and need to mail to ad@iitg.ac.in mentioning his/her Roll No, Name, Email ID, Programe, Discipline for creation of NAD ID/CVL ID.

(b) After registering in the NAD portal i.e. https://cvl.nad.co.in or https://www.academicdepository.com/MNAD/, you have to upload your NAD/CVL ID registration related information/documents to the MS-Form https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=jacKheGUxkuc84wRtTBwHA2Pncf_XlBJmuBvPmiTwDNUNjBYQkpINE5RUDFQN1RQV1BKT08yWkZNQy4u

(c) After receiving the required information/documents from you through our above referred web portal, we shall seed (link) your NAD registration related information to your digitally signed Original/Provisional Pass Certificate and/or Original Grade Card which are already uploaded and available in the NAD portal.

(d) If you require duplicate copies of your Pass Certificate/Grade Card, you can log in to the above referred NAD portal i.e. https://cvl.nad.co.in or https://www.academicdepository.com/MNAD/, and get as many copies required by making nominal payment on 24x7 basis.

(e) If you want to apply for a job or seek admission for higher studies in an institution (national or foreign), you have to send your duplicate Pass Certificate/Grade Card (on-line/off-line depending upon the case) after downloading the same from the concerned NAD portal, and have to provide the following information to your potential employer/admitting educational institution for INSTANT VERIFICATION of your digitally signed academic awards:

(i) the e-mail id which you provided while registering in the NAD (please do not use IITG mail id for registering in the NAD since the same will not continue for long) .

(ii) your AADHAAR number (if available) .

(iii)your NAD registration Id number. 

(f) Since the whole concept is new, you may often find some of your potential employers/ admitting institutions not willing to comply to your request. To eliminate such possibilities, you are hereby advised to send to your potential employers/ admitting institutions, along with the information as stated at (e) above, the information regarding Government of India policy on the subject which is available in the web site http://nad.gov.in

Note: PLEASE NOTE THAT HENCEFORTH, AS PER POLICY OF THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA, ALL PASS OUT STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO OBTAIN THEIR AUTHENTICATED/DUPLICATE ACADEMIC AWARDS BY LOGGING IN TO THE CONCERNED NATIONAL ACADEMIC DEPOSITORY(NAD) ONLY.

WHILE THE PRESENT IS REALTED TO GRADUATES WHO COMPLETED DEGREE BY 19^TH CONVOCATION AND AFTER, we are also trying to upload awards of those graduates who received degrees before 19^th Convocation for which we shall require some time and notification on the same will be issued in due course of time.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT WHILE AADHAAR-BASED CASES CAN BE EASLY LINKED TO ALREADY UPLOADED AWARDS IN THE NAD, THE SAME FOR NON-AADHAR BASED CASES TAKE TIME SINCE ALL NAD-REGISTRATION PARAMETERS ARE AGAIN REQUIRED TO BE CHECKED FROM STUDENTS INDIVIDUAL PERSONAL FILES. SO, AS FAR AS POSSIBLE, THE BEST THING TO DO IS TO GO FOR AADHAR BASED NAD REGISTRATION.
