Review of circuit analysis concepts, Time-domain analysis and Frequency-domain analysis, Two-port networks, Three-phase circuits, Power in AC circuits; Faraday's law, Inductance, Magnetomotive force, Mutual Inductance, Transformer operation and modeling, Analysis of circuits with single-phase and three-phase transformers, Transformer types for various applications; Electro-mechanical energy conversion principles, Lorentz force, Induced voltage and induced torque in rotating machines, Constructional features of AC machines and DC machines, Nameplate ratings, Losses and Efficiency; Power plant layouts, Power generation using rotating machines, transmission and distribution system concepts, perunit quantities, Single-line diagram.
