Prerequisite: CL 205

Syllabus: Simultaneous Heat and Mass Transfer; Humidification and Dehumidification: process design of cooling towers; Drying: batch and continuous dryers, design of dryers; Adsorption: isotherms, batch and continuous adsorption, ion-exchange; Extraction: triangular diagram, single and multi-stage extraction, design of extractors; Leaching: batch and continuous leaching; Crystallization: Solid-liquid phase equilibria, nucleation and crystal growth, yield calculations; Membrane processes: ultra-filtration, nano-filtration and reverse osmosis.
