Experiments Performed:

The Mechatronics and Robotics lab is equipped with various facilities to educate the students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Analog and Digital Motor Control Teaching Set

Description: The Analog and Digital Motor Control system is designed to introduce analog and digital motor control method used to control the MS15 DC Motor Control Module. The curriculum makes use of real Time Windows TM based Virtual Control Laboratory software and control laboratory Input / output Interface Module. The MS15 DC motor module is an extremely versatile unit which provides sufficient variety of instrumentation on board to enable the whole range of analog and digital investigation.

Transducer and Instrumentation Trainer kit

Description: The Trainer Kit is based on a single panel Transducer and Instrumentation trainer DIGIAC 1750. The unit provides examples of a full range of Input and Output Transducers, signal conditioning circuits and display devices.

Pneumatic and Electro pneumatic Trainer Kit

Description: The setup includes Compressor: To convert available power from electric motor or internal combustion engine to pneumatic power at the actuator. Valves: To control the direction of air flow to the actuators. Pressure and flow control valves: To control the level of power. Actuator: To convert potential energy of the compressed air. Connectors: To link the various systems components.

Hydraulic Trainer

Description: Hydraulic Trainer kit is used to conduct experiments to observe flow control, pressure control and directional control etc.

Inverted Metallurgical Microscope

Description: Inverted Metallurgical Microscope is used for Topographical analysis with facility such as interfacing with a computer and equipped with software for image analysis.

Scorbot-ER V Plus

Description: The Scorbot-ER 5 is a vertical articulated robot, with five revolute joints. It has 5 axes plus servo gripper. The design permits the end effector to be positioned and oriented arbitrarily within a large work volume. The robot's five axes and gripper are operated by DC servomotors. Five micro switches are fitted onto the frame of the robot arm.

Robotics Training System

Description: The RCS-6 Robotic construction system combines industrial –level robotic features. It has six hoby servo motors. Two on/off outputs for device control. The device driver provides the low level interface to the RCS-6 adapter. It supports the RCS-6 scripting language, motion parameters for each servo.
