Multi Tool Turning- Supported by
Department of Mechanical Engineering IIT Guwahati:
PhD work Mr
R Kalidasan (2010-17) along with Prof U S Dixit
Objective:
To understand the multi tool turning process comprehensively
and to evaluate its suitability
Methodology
Design and develop suitable
tooling for deployment of two single point cutting tool for turning operation
in a conventional center lathe
Develop condition monitoring system to measure
and monitor the cutting and feed forces of double cutting tools, temperature of
workpiece and cutting tools and vibration level of cutting tools
