About us

Entrepreneurial Development Cell (EDC) is a special interest group under Technical Board of the Students Gymkhana Council, IIT Guwahati and is responsible for activities and initiatives which would instil and promote the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the IITG community as well as the youth of North-East India. To foster an environment which is conducive to entrepreneurship, we at EDC organize lectures, events and workshops to create a platform for them to realize their potential and showcase their bright ideas in front of public and industry.
Technology Incubation Centre (TIC) has been started at IIT Guwahati to enable young entrepreneurs to initiate technology start up companies for commercial exploitation of technologies developed by them. For further details, please visit the webpage.

IITG Entrepreneurial Summit-2011

5th and 6th March, 2011

IIT Guwahati Entrepreneurship Summit, more popularly known as IES, has been initiated with a primary objective of instilling and promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the IIT Guwahati community and the youth of North East India.This time around we at EDC, IIT-G are doing things a wee bit differently. IES 2011 which promises to surpass its predecessors is also going to be the first edition of IES with a unifying theme. The theme decided for IES 2011 is ‘Connecting the Dots’.
A rather vague theme you would say but entrepreneurs revere profundity of thought and so do we. The underlying principles that this theme speaks of are trying your best to make do with the resources that you have, being enterprising and very expeditious. IES 2011 will be all about realizing that all it takes to make it big is a little bit of luck and a whole lot your ability to recognize opportunity and going in for the kill.
The IES 2011 will witness a series of talks by eminent speakers, interactive sessions, start-up showcasing and networking sessions.Apart from the myriad of inspiring lectures, IES 11 will also witness a thought provoking and incredibly riveting panel discussion where in some of our eminent speakers will give their insights on a very interesting topic that is bound to engender an exchange of elegant and meaningful ideas between our audience and the panel.
It takes us immense pleasure in informing that the third edition of IES shall be organized from 5th-6th of March, 2011 in the IIT Guwahati campus.
