Workshop - Rich Interactive Narratives by Microsoft Research
Microsoft Research (MSR) conducted a two day workshop and competition on Rich Interactive Narrative (RIN) with students of Department of Design (DoD). The workshop was divided into two major sessions of
a) Introduction to MSR, MSR India, research activities and projects at MSR
b) Introduction to RIN, workshop and hands on learning on "using RIN o create narratives and discover/ explore potential scenarios for RIN applicability and consumption".

This workshop was conducted by Mr.Siddharth Prakash and Mr. Jatin from MSR and coordinated by Keyur Sorathia. RIN enables content authors to channelize their creativity and create compelling narratives that blend multiple experience streams. Consumers of the narrative will be able to have an increased level of engagement due to enhanced interactivity levels that RIN enables.

Objective

  • Have students use RIN to create narratives and discover/ explore potential scenarios for RIN applicability and consumption.
  • Enable new ways by which faculty can bring RIN into the teaching environment to create new pedagogical approaches.
