   General Information

The PhD admission will be based solely on online interviews, presentation of statement of purpose (research proposal) and viva-voce of the candidates. In view of this procedure, the candidates must agree to the Terms and Conditions of online PhD interview. The link with the Terms and Conditions will be emailed to all the shortlisted candidates in the email id provided during online registration. In order to be invited to appear for online interviews, the shortlisted candidates must agree to the terms and conditions and submit the form by 05.12.2020.

   Online Interview Procedure

The interviews will be conducted in two steps.
STEP 1: Shortlisting Interview
All the Shortlisted Candidates will be asked to appear for an initial Shortlisting Interview. The Shortlisting Interview will take place on 09.12.2020 from 9 AM till 5 PM. The schedule for online interviews and the slots for each candidate will be announced on this page, on 07.12.2020. The shortlisting interview will be based on general and candidate’s subject specific contents, including aptitude and general analytical ability.

Short-listing Criteria for calling the candidates for Step 2 (Statement of Purpose Presentation and Viva-voce):
A candidate will be shortlisted for the Second Step based on his/her performance in the First Step (shortlisting interview). For each category candidates, three times the number of allotted seats, or the maximum available number of candidates (whichever is lower) will be shortlisted for the Second Step.

STEP 2: Statement of Purpose Presentation and Viva-voce
In Step 2, the candidates will be interviewed based on their statements of purpose (research proposals) submitted .

Final selection for the PhD program at CLST will be based on the performance of the candidate in the Statement of Purpose Presentation and Viva-voce, availability of relevant faculty members in the areas of interest of the candidate and on the consensus of the selection committee.
