- M.A. in Music (violin) from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalay.,Khairagarh(C.G.) in 2001. Secured a high first class (66%) and got Gold Medal for the year.

IIT Kanpur has around 10000 people including students, faculty, staff researchers and the radio is dedicated service to the Institute community. My work primarily involves composing and recording classical and semi-classical programmes for the radio. One of my most satisfying experiences has been to record a series of 12 episodes on learning vocal music. I have also composed background music for other programmes viz. skits and stories
My main task was to teach basic concepts of Indian music to the students. The most challenging aspect of my experience here was to initiate very young students into the world of music and I had developed interesting methods to generate musical interest in them.. I can reflect with some satisfaction that over the years most of my students developed an appreciation for music and some have even pursued it seriously in the later years too.I also have been the cultural secretary of the school for four academic sessions in which I organized many functions and competitions in the school.
Given my excellent academic record ( Gold Medalist in PG Examinations), my strong inclinations for academic pursuits and also for being a graded radio artist I have been invites to be an Examiner. This job is particularly satisfying because it gives me an opportunity to interact with budding musical students/artists and also with experienced teachers/performers.
- My research work was on different styles of playing bowing instrument in north India which will bring out to have some new Gharanas of bowing instruments as in string instruments like Sitar.I have also given comparative analysis of sound of bowing instruments with string instruments and vocals which leads to the result that why sound of bowing instruments is closure to the vocals rather than the string instruments.
- I am also interested in research of sound quality in Musical instruments so that they can be standardized
- I have research interests in Hindustani classical music. I have been exploring the influence of Hindustani Classical Music on light music such as geet, ghazal, bhajan, folk songs.

- I have had formal training in violin (hence my PhD is in bowing stringed instruments) but can play skillfully some other musical instruments of different genres like Tabla, Harmonium, Mandolin.
- I am also a trained and accomplished vocalist and have given several performances.
Radio and Television
- I am a graded violin artist with AIR, Lucknow and have done fourteen violin solo recordings since 2001. The Raga recordings which have been aired in AIR include Bageshri, GorakhKalyan, Madhuwanti, AhirBhairav, BilaskhaniTodi, Jaunpuri, AlhaiyaBilawal, Kalawati, Jog and Charukesi.
- I have performed in Doordarshan Lucknow in their ‘Hindustani Classical Programme’ aired in July 2013 and programme named ‘Mehfil’, aired in Sept. 2014.
I have been giving solo violin performances since 1992 and have given 15 performances till date. Given my professional commitments most of my performances have been in Kanpur but I have also performed in Mumbai, Guwahati, Patna, Jhansi, Lucknow, Firozabad and others. Several of my performances have been organized by Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.

- Composed and performed background music for annual concerts for last 8 years in Degree Section, Jwala Devi Girls PG College, Kanpur.
- Have been an invitee as judge in many classical and semi-classical competitions in and around Kanpur. Some of the institutions are:Puranchand VidyaNiketan Kanpur, am a regular judge in IITK Antaragni, Jaipuria School Kanpur, D.P.S. Azadnagar Kanpur, Sangeetanjali Group etc.
- Composed music of patriotic and folk songs for different programs of Campus School, IIT Kanpur.
