Students are selected
for admission to the above programmes through Joint Entrance Examination for IITs

| Master Programme |
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati presently conducts the following programmes at the
post-graduate level leading to the Masters degree:
- Master of Technology (M.Tech.): Two years ( 2-semester coursework + 2-semester
project work) prgramme in the following departments,
- Master of Design (M.Des.): Two years ( 4 semesters) programme in the Department
of Design.
Admissions to the MTech and MDes programmes are held once a year - in July. For
